Focus

(week 1)

Local vs. National vs. Global

Research different aspects of each of these areas; local, national, and global in terms of water issues.  Determine what focus your group would like to have.  This will set the goals for the rest of the Challenge so choose wisely!

Local – this area can include Fort Worth/Dallas all the way to the state level of Texas.

National - this area will consist of the USA or a small group of states.

Globalanywhere in the world that there is a water issue.

Collect Data

(week 2)

Once you have chosen your focus, you need to find questions to answer (examples below).

  • What is water use/availablity like in your focus area?
  • What is the history or development of water access there?

Search for questions and answers online, library, interviews.

Connections

(week 3)

Connect the data, give the past, present, and future outlook of water use in your chosen area (local, national, global).

Solutions

(week 4-5)

Provide solutions for the water issues you found in your chosen area.  Solutions can range from basic watering plans for communities, to new technologies to help water crisis.  Be creative and think big, there is no limit to what is possible.

to complete this task you must develop the idea in form of a paper or physical object.  This will be used in the last task of this Challenge.

Share/Implement

(week 6)

Share all of your data, connections, and sloutions with each other.  Then try to find a way to impliment the solutions or see if they already have been impoimented somewhere.  Rember to collect information and share to help everyone else improve their water situation.

final task is the portfolio you have created in challange one.  it can be used to actually impliment your ideas.
